Panchakarma is the name of a group of therapies in order to cleanse deep-seated toxins that are the causes behind difficult, chronic and recurring diseases. Panchakarma includes preparatory therapies (purva-karma such as internal and external relaxation, hydration and oleation), main therapies (pradhana-karma such as stomach wash - vamana, small intestine flush - virechana, large intestine flush - vasti, sinus flush - nasya and blood flush - raktamoksha) and post operative therapies (paschat-karma - agni-samsthaapana and bala-samsthaapana).
No one needs all these therapies. Most probably you might need just of these therapies. Each o the first three of the panchakarma is complex and can take at least 30-35 days to complete. The most vital aspects of panchakarma is
Keeping the client deeply relaxed and almost at "zero stress" level. This usually requires removing the client from their normal environment that actually making triggering their health issues. Providing personalised therapies under expert supervision. This will require literally hundreds of single herbs, pre-mixed herbs and expert compounders who work closely with your doctor. Many therapies require a registered nurse in Australia as well. And many conditions require regular visit of a GP in Australia too.
Constant monitoring and effective communication. This requires attention round the clock from an Ayurvedic doctor/s.
Most importantly, chronic and recurring diseases might require Panchakarma to be repeated 3 years in a row.
What is a disease
This is disease. A systemic disease originates from toxins or pathogens (ama). They are usually generated in the gut. And then migrate through the fluids in the body and locate in the susceptible tissues. Tissues attack the pathogen, which is called inflammation. Based on the nature of the tissues, immune system and pathogen, one develops a specific type of inflammations. E.g. A rash can come and goes in few days is a shallow inflammation. A stubborn eczema is a deep inflammation and may take months to get subsided. Both are dermatitis.
If the ama is very strong for the body, immune system stops paying attention to that region and thus one may develop an autoimmune disease. If the affected region and immune system are very week compare to the strength of ama one may develop non-regenerative or degenerative conditions.
A deep strong ama is treated ideally using panchakarma.
Panchakarma 1) dissolves deep seated toxins, 2) move them via the fluids of the body into the gut or large cavities and 3) flushes completely. Pathogen arrives in local veins, sinus, stomach, small intestine or large intestine based on their nature. A specific cleanse is allocated for each of these location.
How much does it costs? Resorts we refer people to in India starts with $100/day. Price includes daily consult, herbs, therapies, accomm and all meals. If there is one in Australia it could be over $800/day.
Why do you choose India? 21,000 herbs, 3,000 local herbs, 500,000 pre-mixed formulas and full fledged ayurveda centres are some reasons. Price is the second consideration. The last client chose $4300 / month program. Including flights he paid just under $6000. This will be the same price you pay for a week in an Australian centre. India also takes away most of your stress, as it is 9000 km away.
