Prakrti is the Ayurvedic word for body type. Body type is a unique (pra) krti (constitution). Prakrti is about your talents, skills or potential. In other words, its about what are you designed for. Prakruti and Prakriti are the same.
Vikrti is another Ayurvedic concept. The vikrti is used in two contexts, with 2 completely different meanings. 1. Reform, remake, redo or a changed state it represents physiology. 2. Anomaly or distortion it represents an altered physiology -pathology! This is confusing, right?
Prakrti is the skills or potentials and hence assessed and analysed. Vikrti is a discomfort or disease and hence diagnosed.
Prakrti is explored and applied. Prakrti is not treated, cured or balanced. Vikrti needs to be treated with appropriate measures.
Body is optimised to match our prakrti. Body is treated to remove our vikrti.
Body changes. Tendencies and illnesses change. Personalities and preferences change. Body type, but, remains.
